« on: July 20, 2006, 08:07:04 PM »
My outlines end up being pointless

I write them out, then forget about them and continue on writing

When I run into a problem I just abandon the story and take a couple of days off and wait for an idea.
SOmetimes it comes sometimes I just press the delete button and start again.

Also there's an FAQ in McAnalys I think that Mickey put it there and forgot about it

I posted on it

Maybe a mod could move it

The Seventh Sanctum is awesome
I could spend all day there perfecting my moves:

Knee Swing of the Monsters
Priest Hot Smash
Tooth of Firey Boulders
Nineteen Badgers Noose of Penetrating Carnages

I have definatly got to use these

The only resources I use are other books I like - they help me with dialouge and other things (I don't copy them they just give me an idea of what I want to do and how to get it across)

Dell?
Cell?

I'm confused

Anyway the only perfect language is elvish
and that's final

(sin language is a close second)

or Latin - we should all speak latin
even math

For me Dead issues are the best issues  ;)

(I don't check the dates I just post)  :D

I feel everyone is entitled to my ideas - no matter what the circumstances are  ;D

Site Suggestions & Support / Re: An "Ask Jim" section?
« on: July 18, 2006, 10:59:45 PM »
I agree that every little thing would be quite an annoyance for Jim.
People might start badgering him for more details on the books or to add stuff to his books or even pry into his personal life. Even if he chooses not to respond some questions could be quite insulting.

I think that the way it is now is a good system - he can choose to clear the mud if he wishes or leave us in the dark

If an ask Jim section is created I think that the admin would have to be deleting bad and off topic questions around the clock.

This is just my opinion - in a perfect world an ask Jim Question section would be perfect
but people have been known to abuse good things and turn them into decidedly bad things - people like that annoy me grrr  >:(

If the Protangonist doesn't die then it risks nothing unless it can possibly lose from the situation - like if you lose I kill your mortal friend, or a God who created a people and loved them and must fight to save them.

I guess the circumstances dictate if it could work or not.

Author Craft / Re: Fanfiction - Good or Evil?
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:20:47 PM »
I don't mean to offend anyone but in my opinion the fan fic writer is just being lazy.

I would rather read a story filled with original ideas and charactors than a person copying an already amazing author. I also bet that some authors find it annoying when their ideas get screwed up in fan fic.

These are just my opinions I'm sure fan fic writers are nice people I would just rather read original material.

You lied it's not over my left shoulder  :'(

So what your saying is FAQ is designed to stop pointless questions and to create an all knowing data base

makes sense
In a way we are making one big Jim Butcher Bob-the-skull

I'll ask a question now

How can Jim be so witty, is that just the way he is or does he just do it when he writes

And also

did he ever get beaten up for being a smart ass (excuse the lang.)

For some reason the Dresdon files just flow - each sentence just draws you into the next.
That is what I look for in the beggining of a book (minus textbooks)

I'm sort of sad right now I started to write a story but I can't get it to flow.  no flow = no go  :'(

Do all the admin live in the same area?

They keep on talking about wedding photos

Maybe it's a conspiracy

(hide in box in Canada)

Why do Avatars matter, they are little pictures - I post on this thing because I like to chat with other Fans not so I can see my favorite picture

Why stress the Admin they are already doing such a good job

I guess the admin are also waaaay more patient than I am

If the Avatars don't upload make do with what they have given us already
