Interesting that the word Christ comes from the greek Cristos and Gregory means Watcher. Jim is clearly aware of etymology and often names characters with purpose. Hints in the name, especially now.
So is Cristos the Antichrist? Or simply the Christ Watcher?

Cristos (Christos) means "anointed" in Greek. Gregorio means "watchful". So the translation would be "Watchful Anointed". Probably an assumed name to invoke the idea of leadership and worthiness. More so than his birth name, which was Cowly McCowlface. :P

Cowly McCowlface.
:D

Gregorio means watcher? Like to observe, or to spy?
Perhaps calling oneself annointed spy was a retrograde step from Cowly McCowlface.

It does seem like a name chosen to be ironic, as he's the one chosen to watch the council collapse from within.

What if Christos is really starting to enjoy being on the Senior Council a little too much? The power, the privilege, the perks, what if he is so shallow that all he wants is to be important. Being the spy of the Black Council made him feel important, but what if being a member of the senior Council is much, much better?
Could Christos have been sent to Chicago because he is now expendable to the Black Council? They don’t care whether he lives or dies, does he realise this? Does he change sides and abandon the Blac Council? He certainly appeared to be enjoying the pomp and circumstance of the Peace Talks, and didn’t appear to be aware of what was going to happen.

Christos does feel more like Rudolph than Cowl, but then so did Peabody until he went Empty Night with the mistfiend.
