I have been thinking about this plot for a while, please tell me what you think. This is just a rough draft type summary that I wrote in about 5 minutes so I know it isn't that good right now. But criticism is accepted. Just try not and flame.
Plot: A world beyond our deepest emotions. A mirrored world where the impossible is possible. A simple puddle is the gateway to the world of Mihr, a duplicate of our world with destinct differences. One being that it's run by a cruel and ruthless man named Arothorn. Mihr was not a problem until a boy named Jacob toys around with magic. A man is summoned in his room who knows more than any other man on earth. He tells Jacob of the Mirror world and tells him to never use his magic again or it would bring doom to us all. Jacob decides never to use this gift again until one day, a man is murdered at a robbery and Jacob seeks revenge. This catches Arothorn's eye and he sends a few men to check on the matter at hand. When they find out of the world that lies beyond theirs, they attempt to connect to it through the magic Jacob used. If they became completely connected, it could mean certain doom. Arothorn has darker plans...

Several questions spring up that I won't get into at the moment, as you said this is just a rough summary.
Sounds interesting; I got a lot of dark, drizzly imagery just from that. The puddle thing reminds me of Poltergiest. Not a bad thing, just an observation.
The main thing that caught my attention is that the name of your mirror world might sound the same as the world in my series: Myr And I also think Arathorn sounds too much like Aragorn.

I've never seen poltiergeist or whatever (sorry for bad spelling XD) But yeah, I think I should change the bad guys name. I need a name that sounds evil and stuff o-o.

Holy crap, you've never seen Poltergeist? I think the puddle thing happens in the 3rd one. They scared the living bajeezes outta me when I was younger. You should check them out, they're classics.

"A world beyond our deepest emotions."
Nani?

Indeed, Arathorn was Aragorn's father, which would make me wary of naming a character anything like.

Throw in a smart guy: Nani & The Professor?

o-o Really? Oh well, I can revise and edit, etc. etc. Never was much of a LOTR fan...
