Just out of curiosity. :)
I just finished a sci-fi piece and am currently working on one that, i guess, would be classified as more mainstream fiction/drama.
The new story is very much character-driven, about a single father, who grew up with an abusive/alcoholic home life. He now has to come to terms with his wife's death and re-adjust to his new life of raising his young daughter alone, while trying to avoid repeating the mistakes of his father when depression threatens to lead him toward drinking problems of his own.
Yeah... I'm having to do a lot of research on this one, as I myself grew up very much removed from anything remotely abusive and have the best dad ever. Of course, given that, I think all of this necessary research and character exploration is a good thing. ;)

My current baby is fantasy, but I have an urban fantasy waiting in the wings for when I've finished.
-
Modern fantasy, slipstream/new-weird. My first love is science fiction, but I'm far too picky about it to write it. :-\
-
Satirical religious "I am so going to hell for writing this" fantasy. THat's mine.
-
Urban Fantasy of course. gives me an excuse to put people i know into the story
-
Definately urban fantasy... or maybe suburban fantasy, since it's set by turns in Salem and outside of Lowell, Massachusetts.
-
An urban fantasy in a world recovering from a worldwide societal shift.
-
The majority of what I write Low Fantasy... once in a while I'll write some High Fantasy.
Heh, Bob... I used to write "satirical religious 'I'm going to hell for this fantasy"... it's always great fun isn't it?
Mainly I write in a third person perspective. The last story I wrote was in first person though, unfortunately my general suckiness with first person shone through... I'm planning on re-writing it in third person :P

My current monkey is fantasy / horror...King-esque and Koontz-ish people have called it. Which, comparing myself to Stephen King is downright blasphemous. But okay, I'll take the compliment. ;)

My latest story is a vampire story, based on the idea that everyone should try it at least once. That said, once it's done I plan on burying it in the last place anyone could ever find it. It's more of a learning experience. What have I learned? I don't like writing vampires. ;D

Reversible vamprisim as something to experiment with for a little while and see whether you like it ? That has potential, though i suspect the story mode it would suit is sillier than anything I'm likely to get into.

Two novels...one modern urban fantasy (action/noir/comedy with a MIB tilt), and one post-modern steampunk noir.
And they're set in the same universe.
Heh.

currently co-authoring a sourcebook for an rpg with my husband. And you know what? It's a huge pain in the ass trying to work around history of the game world that you don't know about but some people assume you do. Also trying to build a language from random words someone years ago made up because they "sounded Elvish" and have no basis in linguistic reality.
Any other conlangers out there?

Sci-Fi/ Fantasy. Also have an RPG for my novels. Working on about 7 novels right now.

Fantasy. I have 2 stories going and am working on edits to another. I can't stick too many irons in the fire or I get discombobulated.

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this forum.
I used to write sort of supernatural horror stuff, but I kind of grew out of it. Now I write cotemporary fiction. My most recent story is a ghetto drama called The Minority House. It is sort like a John Singleton movie with the "hood" is less emphasized and paired with a privledged suburban setting. It is very character-driven.

Modern Fantasy(about a Demon Hunter who lives in an unamed city and helps people with problems that might seem otherworldly)
Guess i could take a crack at writing Vampires even though there cliched and writing to death
-
Neurovore - educate me. What did you mean by reversible vampireism?

I have a bunch of stuff going at once right now. My YA murder mystery is the main one. Another YA that I guess could be construed as urban fantasy. At the risk of sounding derivative, it's kind of Harry Potter-meets-the-X-Men-and-Mulder-and-Scully. Another urban fantasy. What the heck? I didn't realize I wrote so much urban fantasy. I'm starting to lose track of what's what. I mostly write murder mysteries, but I like having something in a completely different genre on the side. And apparently that genre of choice is urban fantasy.

I'm currently working on a private eye/noir/comedy/murder mystery set in late 1940's Manhattan. I'm still tinkering with the outline at this point, trying to sort out the timing and everyone's motivations and making sure the cops don't behave like idiots. :)

Depending on the hour, day, week, and phase of the moon I am working either on my dark urban fantasy, my epic fantasy, or my science-fantasy.
Once in a blue moon I'll pick up my sci-fi.
