If a Winter Knight with Inhuman Toughness (Armor: 1) wears a bulletproof vest (Armor: 1) underneath a magical duster (Armor 2, 3 uses/session), what is his Armor score? Is it 2 when using the coat and 1 otherwise (no stacking), 3 when using the coat and 2 otherwise (Toughness stacking, but vest and coat not), or 4 when using the coat and 2 otherwise (everything stacking)?

I'm pretty sure you use the highest armor rating, unless the armor rating is specifically mentioned as a bonus to pre-existing armor - not that I can think of any such examples.
-
Armor does not stack. You take the highest applicable rating.
Doubling up is still kinda useful, however--the vest and Toughness armor will help when the duster is out of juice, and the vest will help whenever someone tries to use iron.

If you want a book reference, check the notes at the bottom of page 202 of Your Story.
PS: Weren't you a poster on the Exalted forums, once upon a time?

The whole WW forums, actually. I remember seeing him in Mage and maybe Vampire too.
Assuming he is the same person. I remeber the username being somewhat different.

Yeah, I got banned until August 2027, or something stupidly far off like that. I think it was an error, and I meant to re-register after August rolled around, but I kept putting it off.

Huh. What for?
Did it have to do with the thing that got Jon Chung banned? I vaguely recall you being involved with that.

I honestly can't remember; it would have been in May or June, because I think it was intended as a 2 or 3 month ban. I think it might have been calling someone who was acting like a moron a moron.

Oh my, Exalted. (Has been looking for a good DB-centric game for a year now)
And yeah, armor doesn't stack. Though overlapping fields of protection is possible, as mentioned.
-
Y'know, DFRPG and Exalted have a surprising amount of overlap in their playerbases. I really wonder why that is, considering how different the games are.
-
I always thought that it was because both games allowed - nah, encouraged over-the-top action. Though it's certainly more prevalent in Exalted than DFRPG.
