Title: Foci for thematic ritualists
Post by: rickayelm on February 17, 2011, 04:57:13 AM
Does a thematic ritualist like a diabolist just use a foci for diabolism or do they have to take foci for each individual type of diabolical thaumaturgy? In other words would I have a foci of diabolism control +1, or would I have to take diabolsm wards control +1, and redo that for each of the diabolism abilities?

You can get a necromancy focus so there is no reason why you could not get a diabloism focus.

I guess that all depends. For Thaumaturgy, you could certainly do it as different odds and ends that you use in the casting process. The way I understand foci for evocation, you can have several refinement points bundled in to one foci, but it kind of makes sense to use several items in the creation of your circle to do something specific.

As far as I can tell you can a focus of anything you can have a ritual or channeling off so you could have a focus in summoning rather than a focus in diabloism which would be more useful and do the same job.

Actually a focus in diabolism would be way better as it could be used for any thaumaturgic category as long as it related to demons somehow. Also diabolism is a perfectly acceptable selection for a focus.
