In a game I am planning to run a player wants to play a criminal profiler type character, possibly a minor talent. She was thinking of creating a stunt that added a trapping for the Empathy skill. Here it is, please tell me if you all think this would work.
Detached Empathy: You are capable of "Reading people" from their belongs or a scene in which they have had considerable influence. For example, you could spend several minutes "feeling out" a crime scene, and learn helpful information about a target's aspects (They are clumsy, overly aggressive, etc.). In game terms they wouldn't defend against this kind of assessment with Rapport, but could with Deceit. The GM may modify the difficulty of the assessment based on the amount of information available. Otherwise this skill works the same was as the trapping "Reading People."
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

The target's Discipline could also be a good defense against this trapping.

I thought it worked pretty well, but you are right that would work as well, I will pass that on to the player.

Looks pretty reasonable to me. A lot like a mundane (and therefore far less useful) version of the Psychometry power.
How would you feel about having this entered into the Homebrew Stunts Master List?

I don't have a problem with it. I just cut and pasted my players proposal for it into my post, so it is not my work. He is fine with it though, I asked him.
So feel free.
