Title: Jim Running DFRPG
Post by: Michael,HandofGod on June 06, 2010, 06:15:01 PM
I wonder if Jim has, or is ever planning on running, a session of the Dresden Files RPG....that would certainly be an interesting game to see.

I think it'd be more interesting to see Fred run a session with Jim and a few other players, then turn it into a series of podcasts.  After all, the Penny Arcade podcasts did wonders for 4e D&D and I'd love to see something like that done for the DFRPG (with or without Jim).

There is a Q&A somewhere on the net where Jim says that he will probably never get to play DFRPG. He says if he would run it, it would be to much like work and if he was playing it, he would be a GM's worst nightmare.

On the other hand he said that he might try and play it during a convention, hiding under some kind of disguise. I'll try to find the Q&A it should be on YouTube somewhere. I bet my buddy Tsunami knows exactly where he said it ...

"Too much like work"... isn't that what Harry was saying back when Billy first invited him to game night? There is hope yet to see Jim turn up at a table I say.

Just make sure to give Jim the big barbarian character...

I totally understand Jim when he says it would be much like work, but I as a writer would love to run a RPG in my world. I could try out different things, see different reactions from different kind of people and maybe I could get a cool idea from my players for my next book.

I would see it as my playground to get inspiration and try out plot-ideas.
