So, I'm working on a story that's turning out to be a bit like...well, Tenchi Muyo meets Buffy meets Burn Notice. The world, so far, is one with the supernatural as hush-hush, though it is real. The characters go to a store for their occult supplies, which is run by a witch hippie-momma, and I need to name the place. I'm looking for a quirky, funny name for the shop.
Any help?

Sortie Ledge. :D

I don't know? How about: " your friendly neighborhood occult shop?" :D
-
Miss MoeJoe?
The Pot and Kettle? :D

Maybe a play on the owner's name...
Or faux Latin

I've always been a fan of song titles. Or if that fails I take a few nouns and start making combinations till they sound appropriately mystic/tough or whatever I'm looking for.

Is she really a hippie type? You could borrow from hippie lingo. Something about Aquarius or Flower Power. Or you could borrow from writers the hippie movement really dug. A quick Google search turned up this one that looks promising:
Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. - Joseph Campbell
"Open Doors" wouldn't be a bad name for a flowers-and-light type of occult shop. The Campbell quote could be stenciled on the walls or on the door or something.

How about "Things that go bump in the night"
-
Black Magic Woman...... ;)

Y'know what they call it when a witch decides to stop hiding the fact that she's a witch? "Coming out of the broom closet."
So "The Broom Closet" could be fun. :)

I liked the last one.

once did an occult supply (mostly potions) shop called Moonshine in an RP. Always thought it had a nice ring to it.

Your Momma's Magic or The Spice Shoppe or Corner Hit or Rosemary & Thyme or .... got busy at work... If I have time tonight I'll rattle some more off.

i always like to think of specific locations as their own character with a personalty and name the thus.
for a shop i look at some key factors:
what they sell the most of
location in the city/town, bad part of town, upscale, or some place in between
who owns the shop, what there personality is like cause the shop is an extension of their own character
and who is the owner trying to attract to her shop. wannabe's or those of the true craft, or is it more faith oriented such as Wicca or such.

Frankincense
No Head Shop (playing off the hippie aspect)

Bock Order Books, I hear that's a good name for one.
But if you don't wanna get sued and have some dude with a black pony tail chasing after you, I'd go with something else.
How aboot... The Witches Attic, Strange Brew (coffee shop AND book store, eh? eh? eh, eh screw you, I thought it was funny), Dusty Tome, Valdenvooks (groan) or Barnes and Nouveaus
-
Strange Brew could be good. Just not coffee though. Hippies drink dandelion tea and stuff.
