Found something I thought you guys would be interested in. I may just be new to the uptake, but I stumbled upon this site called Tvtropes.com (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tropes), and its freaking fantastic. Its like a wikipedia for modern literary structure, but with a focus more on Stan Lee than Shakespeare. I have never found a place that had so meticulously broken down the modern archetypes and well...literature. I mean, where else could you get a multipage breakdown, with examples, of a Xanatos Gambit (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/XanatosGambit), Jerkass Dissonace (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JerkassDissonance), or the Sidekick Ex Machina (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SidekickExMachina) (which btw is an extreme form of Hypercompetant Sidekick (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HypercompetentSidekick) and similar in application to Manic Pixie Dream Girl (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ManicPixieDreamGirl)). Its got a listing of villain levels from Mook (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Mooks)to The Dragon (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheDragon), and and a listing of the Flying Brick (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FlyingBrick) superpower set. I have now spent that last hour crawling through it soaking all up. ;D

Ah, tvtropes. The black hole of the internet.
You'll spend more than an hour on that page before you're through... -_-

Yes! Yes! Yes! TV Tropes should be mandatory reading for all aspiring authors. And for the perspiring ones, too.
But set a timer - A loud one. Maybe two...

*blinks* What happened to the last 5 hours? :-\

Yes. Exactly.
