Jim clearly doesn't know what he's missing out on by not doing San Diego this year.  We had such plans.  *sigh*

Excellent. I'm with BookLover. Lexington's just an hour drive for me. Louisville is a 90-minute jaunt, so either would be good, but Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington, KY, is a fantastic store, so I'm wondering if that's were he'll be signing.
Smokey, my friend, you are entering a world of pain.

Midnight release party in Chicago? Perfect!! Now we just need to get to the point where there's midnight release parties *everywhere*, ala that series with the kid-wizard named Harry or those books with the Glitter Court vampires.

I think that having a midnight release party in Chicago is a great idea!
I plan to celebrate here in Austin, TX somehow too!

Chicago?  Terrific.  Please let the location be accessible by public transportation -- please, pretty please!

Ok, I'm doing a major happy dance... I think some of my coworkers and I are going to drive to Chicago for the signing/book release!  We're going to take a day to do a "Dresden tour of Chicago," too.

If you're looking for Wrigley Field to be surrounded by 'acres and acres of asphalt' (presumably for parking) you'll be out of luck.  :)

Yeah, not that hung up on the parking lot!

Ooooh... does anyone know how to get to the Undertown-ish parts?  I never did that when I lived there... not that I want to go adventuring, but I've gotta at least try to find something Undertown-ish, right?

*goes to begin compiling list of Dresden landmarks*

Um... really... no. You don't want to go to Undertown in the winter... or spring... or hell, ANYTIME!

It really does exist and it really is where the homeless people live. They can get quite territorial, I hear.
If you are up to no good, please do no good for me too, okay?   ;D

My parents are aghast at the idea of me driving from South-Central Indiana to Chicago for a Dresden release party. (Mostly because I'd have to get back down here by 2PM that day, for classes.) Hoo boy, but I'm serious. (I mean, seriously? A -Dresden- release party, in -Chicago,- and I drive a Blue Beetle.)

Might hold out and go to Dayton, though ... It's a tick closer. Will have to wait to see what the Chicago plans seem like. Still. Super excited.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible demon about to eat your face.

nothing in Canada?
"Took cover," I provided. "In the action business, when you don't want to say you ran like a mouse, you call it 'taking cover.' It's alot more heroic."

"Right," Butters said, flushing. "I took cover."

"It's fun, taking cover," I said. "I take cover all the time." - Dead Beat
