Extended spell attacks
« on: July 13, 2010, 10:20:31 PM »
While there are rules for extending the duration for blocks and maneuvers there aren't any for attacks.

Is there a way to incorporate something like this?

For example, can you create a zone based attack that would hang around and effect others that move into the zone? Something like the old D&D spell Cloudkill.

Or would you just handle it as a ward type effect?

Um...see Orbius on YS p. 294. It's a grapple based effect and probably does the best job of simulating this sort of thing.

In addition to Orbius, a hanging AoE, Cloudkill style is viable with a direct attack. Or, for Harry-style fun, a extended duration Fire Attack--they're ON FIRE!
