When you try to make a smilie, you get the word "Smiley" instead of an emoticon for : )  (minus the space).

I also have an excellent collection of smilie faces if you ever want to add more to the board.  Little demon ones, goblin ones, and jester ones are my speciality.  Just FYI.  Here's an icon with samples:

I'm not a smiley person (I'm old school, read-em-sideways), and even I think those are good smileys.

I have no say on the coding of the board, however. May want to mail Iago.
