“All of Winter” in Proven Guilty

We now know that Winter bears the burden of Defending the “Outer Gates”.  When Harry cast fire into the Winter Wellspring and “all of Winter” came to slay Harry or drive him out… what happened at the Gates.  Surely that couldn’t have been “all of Winter” or the Gates and walls would have fallen.

When Harry said/thought that he had no idea of how many warriors winter had ( See section of ? - I can't think of which book - where mother winter takes him to the outer gates and he sees just how many warriors winter has). He thought he'd called up all of them, but he probably didn't get more than a few percent of the available warriors.

That was Cold Days, and it was Mother Summer who took Harry to the Outer Gates.  The only experience he had before seeing any of Winter's army was in Summer Knight.  One would think that while most of Winter's forces would be at the Gates, there would still be at least a couple of brigades in and around the Court in case Mab needs them.  And in Battle Ground both Mab and Molly were in Chicago fighting, can't remember if they brought troops with them or not, but even so both the Winter Queen and the Lady were in Chicago while supposedly the Gates were under siege with only Rashid to lead the Winter Army, unless there were some other of Winter's generals.

I believe Lea was conspicuously absent, and she's been touted as the placeholder for Mab in other parts of the story.

So presumably Lea was in command of the Gates.

But in Battle Ground wasn't Lea in Chicago along with Mab and Molly?

I don't recall reading about her. She wasn't in Mab's Sidhe legion that got glamoured, she wasn't in Molly's reinforcements.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Lea was being Mab's proxy at the Outer Gates.

Because early on in the story, there was a big assault at the Outer Gates, evidently in coordination with Ethniu's assault (Harry remarked on it being telling, who (among the factions in Chicago for Peace Talks) appeared to notice & understand the implications); everyone seemed to think that (if all those Outer Gates forces were not urgently engaged) Winter could reasonably have shut down the entirety of the Fomor assault with no other help (though of course Ethniu & the Eye would always need something exceptional).
