Proven Guilty Question…
« on: July 31, 2023, 05:35:13 PM »
“Gregor” Charity’s cult leader have been have been “Aristides”… from Ghost Story?  Seriously.  Charity doesn’t mention “Gregor” dying.  Could he have put himself back together and started his little “gang”.

Discuss.

I suppose it can't be ruled out.
OTOH there's not really any evidence in favor, either.
And IMHO the odds he survived th fall of Siriothrax seems remote...

There are any number on exploitative minor practitioners, at least three in Chicago raised up by Cowl that we know of. Who knows, Cowl may have been generating an entire network, which included BOTH Gregor and Aristides. Certainly a hold over a Dragon would appeal to Cowls long term plans and be very much his style via Gregor. Siriothrax could have blocked Ferrovax in Battle Ground for example.

Aristides on the other hand was suddenly able to get the weapons to attack Murphy and her little band (information Nameless would be aware of) when they proved effective against Listen’s operations. He was someone completely outside Marcones operation capable of performing a hit on allies of Marcone.

Not the same person, but the same type of person both working for Cowl/Nameless in a similar capacity, for the same end. As a lawyer Nameless can keep them under the radar of local law enforcement, as Cowl he can keep them under the radar of the WC, but not the WG or Harry:

Do we even know where "Gregor" & his cult were, physically?

Michael gets Called all over the world; I'm pretty sure it was somewhere USAian, but I never thought there was any reason to think it was anywhere local (i.e. Chicagoland or nearby).

Well Eb seems to think he took out Sirio in Tunguska. Charity's parents live close enough to Chicago for her to take the kids there in the Sandcrawler, a number of small kids in a car, it must only be a couple of hours away. She did however run away from home, to a cult, so San Francisco or LA.

So perhaps Sirio was basking on the San Andreas Fault? He probably went there in 1848 with the gold rush. We know far more about Dragons since Peace Talks and Battle Ground. Her sacrifice intended to get Sirio to deliver the “Big One” decimating California? It’s what you would use an a Dragon for, but to do that Sirio would have to extrude more of himself from the NeverNever than was permissable and that was why the WG smacked him down with his My guess is the death of a Dragon was one of those smaller events.

The Knights appear to be deployed

1. To combat Denarians
2. To protect innocents unable to express free will (I think the justification for Chicken Pizza, the Red Court were attacking children)
3. To take on threats to reality such as the Titan

A Dragon manifesting in the mortal world would be 3. Definitely

Sirio was the air dragon though. If he tried to trigger San Anderas, Ferro would have stepped in as the earth dragon.

Not at all sure about that...  Got a cite?

"Sirio" sounds like "Cirrus" a bit, but the root is different.
It's actually more likely (etymologically) to mean the fire dragon.

And as "ferro" means "iron" specifically, I'd think the "earth-dragon" would be a "Geovax" or "Gaiavax" or some such.

Ferrovax, though?
The first thing that comes to mind there would be ...

 :o

 ... "Faerie-limiting dragon"

You mean a dragon specialising in volcanoes and geothermal phenomena like earth quake faults?

Could Ferro be responsible for the Earths molten Iron/nickel core? Is he responsible for the Earth magnetic field? Life evolved on Earth because of the protection of the magnetic field from space bourne radiation?

That would be a big D Dragon

I recall WOJ that Dragons are the sort of being who gets delegated chores like "there should be mountains here..."

Which, more or less, is indeed a job for the molten iron core, via plate tectonics.
