Do you remember an old post where he mentioned that he was writing Murphy's funeral? Or am I crazy?

There are many horrible sights in the multiverse. Somehow, though, to a soul attuned to the subtle rhythms of a library, there are few worse sights than a hole where a book ought to be. Someone has stolen a book (Terry Pratchett)

You are not. I remember that one as well. But there were several alternative explanations offered besides the obvious one on this forum. And he could have been trolling us.

I think it is safe to say he definitely was trolling us...by telling the truth.

I interpreted as a threat. He would kill Murphy if we did not stop nagging him.

Or maybe my interpretation was right all along. He killed her because we did not stop nagging him about the new book. ;D

See, I was so sure that Jim would never have posted that if Murphy was actually going to die (spoilers), so it had me convinced she would survive BG  :(

Yes, at the moment I thought the same! It was only CE that gave me some pause, and even that, I thought she was going to survive.

I kept an open mind, on one hand why would Jim release such a huge spoiler?  Gage our reaction because he hadn't fully made up his mind yet? Or just a very sick sense of humor?  However once I read Christmas Eve, I felt from Harry's manner that she was dead.  Been there done that, the first holiday without loved ones.
