Similarities between Marcone Hit and Dresden Hit
« on: February 27, 2018, 03:32:36 PM »
I am doing a re listen to the books and noticed some similarities between the hit on Marcone (that resulted in the 'Death' of the Beckett girl) and the hit on Harry at the beginning of SK.  Both involved shooters in the back of black truck and both took place at a park.  I will have to look to see if it was the same park on not when I can get home and look at the books.

I don't think this means anything, just more examples of Jim repeating things in his writing.

It'd be kind of cool if the Tigress was responsible for both, but only if she was still alive. Then they could have a common "Hey, you wanna kill this hitter with me?" like on the train in Death Masks.

Well, I do believe that Marcone and Dresden have a familial relationship.
"That's it???  It's really that simple?
LIES!  Damn lies!  It's a cover up!

Probably because a surprise drive-by is a fairly good tactic for getting rid of someone and getting away quickly.

and a public park is an easy place for a family to be in the crossfire, without needing to draw some previous connections between them.

I'd say that's why gang bangers do just that.
At times I wish I had a clone, but then I realize, I could never live with that a-hole.

Except that it's not; the victims are usually unaffiliated with the presumed target.

I guess a drive by could be functional in several ways.
level 1: Hit and kill target
level 2: Hit and injure target.
level 3: Hit and injure/kill someone known to target. causes target grief.
level 4: hit and injure/kill someone living near target, causes target to avoid area and/or feel fear due to severity of act.
Just a thought.
