3pm – 4pm: Not My Sandbox: Writing in Other Creator’s Worlds (North 126AB)
Writing is hard enough, but what about when you have to do it in someone else’s world and have additional rules/overseers on your creative freedom? These authors know exactly what it feels like to play in a sandbox not their own and share their tips and insights on how to play nicely.
Panelists: Timothy Zahn, Alan Dean Foster, Kevin J. Anderson, Jim Butcher, Claudia Gray, Jason M. Hough

Saturday, May 27th:

4pm – 5pm : Signing for Bard’s Tower (Booth 1466)

Sunday, May 28th:

11:30am – 12:30pm: Signing for Badali Jewelry (Booth 1696)
A free ticket is required. They may be picked up at Badali’s booth (1696 and 1698) at any point during the convention or by emailing badalijewelry@badalijewelry.com before the con.

1:30pm – 2:30pm: Bring Back Aliens (North 126AB)
Aliens are awesome and were a main protagonist in science fiction, but it seems like they have taken a backseat lately. Sure they are alien races and sometimes they are aggressive, but we are talking about some grade A, nasty, destroy the planet and species aliens here. Where have they gone, what can be done to bring them back, or are the really nasty ones just hiding in the pages of an undiscovered book? We will try to answer these questions and then some.
Panelists: Timothy Zahn, Elizabeth Bear, Kevin J. Anderson, Jim Butcher, L.J. Hachmeister, Michael Stackpole

3pm – 4pm: Creating Detectives (North 126AB)
What makes a perfect, or perfectly flawed, detective? These authors know all the ins and outs and are ready to share their insights with you.
Panelists: Jim Butcher, Kevin J. Anderson, Quincy J. Allen

Folks may also be interested in attending Priscilla Spencer’s (me!) panel on Fantasy Mapmaking on Thursday! It doesn’t conflict with any of Jim’s events (in fact, he’ll be cheering me on from the audience because he is a Grade A Friend and Excellent Human Being), so I hope to see you there.
