White Court: Virgin to Vampire. Any kill or feeding only?

Hi all

So, largely as the title says. We know that a White Court Virgin only turns into a full Vampire when they kill, but does that kill have to be from feeding, or does any kill work?
eg, Laura Wraith is walking home and gets attacked by a mugger with a knife, she pulls out a gun and kills him. Does that trigger her transformation, or would it only be if she fed on him to death?

Actually, we know the other way around: it's feeding sufficiently that triggers the transformation, not killing.  This comes up in... I think it's one of the Bigfoot short stories?

Wyvern is closer, but still not quite right. We don't know if Connie has fully transformed by the end of Bigfoot on Campus. Daddys actions would make it seem she's not properly turned.
For both RCIs and WCVs the trigger is first "vampiric" kill. Feeding to the point of killing.
