10wd40 as my resume, the short form...   ;D  Both of those poems were submitted with the resume.  Now that I think of it, the resume should have been a poem.  *Sigh*  Maybe then I would have won!  (J/K --  I am just as happy that I didn't win.  Being a Champion is hard work...  Last time I was champion I never stopped doing stuff and had to travel, which ate a lot of money.  Money I don't have right now!)

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust,
grime and decay, corroding and rust.
The portcullis closes and seals inside
A plethera of fools with no place to hide.
Pain from above is rained down in a mist,
scarring, and lacerating, you get the gist.
Thunder and lightning, Sturm und Drang
Bite at the heel with a sharpened fang.
Now that you've wasted some time with a look,
Perhaps you should read a more pleasant book.

by the darkest of dark arts
this dead thread will dance
now hark best by fowl tarts
and cue the necromance

arise bad poems and rhymes
crawl up from risen grave
shake off loem and slimes
there are whales to shave
Yeah, but Germans and Hungarians don't pull people's theories out of their sockets when they're challenged.  Ducks are known to do that.

Hail to all from Bubdreg the Folkmanis Troll
He has but one single goal
He wishes to on a forum go
And this poem to him a bridge to make it so.

Momento Morie,
Remeber you are Mortal,
Die Someday, you will,
Your time though, has not yet come,
But when the Bells toll, Ask not for Whom They Toll,
They Toll for Thee.

when posting on a forum
one should choose an approproate thread
to spend their waking hours
and the ones they should have been in bed
they should choose a likely picture
they should choose their name with care
they should avoid adding personal details
if theyre not up for a scare
they should post with gay abandon
they should post with literary might
they should post with wit and wisdom
they should never post with spite
and when the day arises
that their posting time is done
they should check their posting status
to see how well theyve done
are they casual conversationalist
are they posty mc posterpants
are they posting more than neurovore
are they ever? not a chance!

I present, a brief lament for my favorite beverage:

Alack a day
Oh, woe is me
For Knudsen changed
Their recipe...

O! shades of grey O thee salute with verve and abandon gay,
for in your poem you have extolled a message I take home
And in word and deed all whom would take pride should heed
In heart and head, in work or bed, from McMurdo Base to Nome.

Applause, applause
there is no clause
This plaudit is pure
I can say no more!
Chi pò, non vò; chi vò, non pò; chi sà, non fà; chi fà, non sà; e così, male il mondo va.

Yeah, but Germans and Hungarians don't pull people's theories out of their sockets when they're challenged.  Ducks are known to do that.

to offer different ideas each time
and as for me, i shall just say

My husband wrote an Ironman theme song, I need to share it.  Now you all will know why we have been happily married for almost 28 years!

   Ironman, Ironman,
   Does whatever an iron can.
   Irons shirts, irons pants,
Even designer scarves made in France.
Look out! Here comes the Ironman.

Is he strong? He’s the best!
Got a glowy thing in his chest.
Can he add in some starch?
Got the time? Just look at your wartch.
Hey there! There goes the Ironman.

In the chill of the night,
   At the dry cleaning place,
   Like a streak of light,
With a smile on his face!

   Ironman, Ironman,
   Friendly neighborhood Ironman.
Wealth and fame, made his mark—
Surely you’ve hearda that Tony Stark.
   To him,
Life is a great big party—
   Where people party hearty,
   You'll find the Ironman!
Chi pò, non vò; chi vò, non pò; chi sà, non fà; chi fà, non sà; e così, male il mondo va.
