Edit:  that's probably not 12 shifts. Instead:  Manipulating the gravity of the moon to send a small space rock off-course to plummet down to earth and into the zone.

I dunno. Taylor Hebert demonstrated the power of swarms rather conclusively.

As for yours: you manipulate the magnetic field from the earth, amplifying it to several Tesla in strength in the span of a few seconds. This plays absolute merry hell with the currents in your opponent's neurons, causing nightmarish effects I'm not sure I can even cover, here.

Psychomancy Might replacement that does /not/ involve controlling people or animals.

-Random events continually interfere with anyone trying to enter or exit the zone, such as a rabid cat jumping at your face, a police car pulling you over, your keys getting lost whatever seems appropriate...

Enourmous magnetic fields, in the field of /hundreds/ of Tesla, make all attacks go erratic thanks to the minor dipoles in pretty much all matter.

Using the inherent animalistic fear of thunder and lightning to slowly torment someone with horrific half seen visions of a dark figure approaching between each blast of lightning.  I can definitely see the consequences being stuff like "afraid of the dark", and "He is Coming"...

I also decided on an easy one...
