Current work schedule has put a damper on Creativity...I don't go in until noon and its a CHORE to write in the morning...8P
Plus I've been doing some thinking and once I'm done with the main draft I'l be whacking a bunch of extra characters that have been sort of main-ish, but too distracting...too many plot-lines...need to throttle back and save some material for later books.

I've found I'm most productive when I force myself into habitual behaviour with my writing. Picking the same time every day to work, at least Monday to Friday, is a great help, and encourages me to find extra time at the weekend.

110k - Admiral"S Revenge

I am really blessed in that my brother does the lion's share of the editing.  So much in fact I can pretty much just sit back and come on in when he stumbles across something that he needs my input on.  We go over any comments from the betas and I pull out the big veto pen at need but pretty much, most of the grunt work with grammar or flow, he just takes care of.  I mean the first few books we were side by side but after that he not only didn't really need my help but I was just slowing him down.  Its gotten more to the point where he says, I need a new scene here, you missed something or we need to show and not just tell.

Best of Luck with your novels PG!

This gives me Wolverine-like images of you popping a set of pens out of the back of your hand.

Well, last night's attempt to write turned into a through pass on a backburnered project that's almost certainly entirely moribund. *sigh* hard to focus and settle in for a major edit when you are conrunning in a fortnight and not going to have any time to do more than a small fraction of it between now and then in the best case.

The bit in brackets was not originally mine; that was incidental John M. Ford from a Making Light thread a few years back.

News,

Our novella "Fire on the Rio Grande" is scheduled for "Ring of Fire IV" from Baen in 2014.

History, Idea pitched in 2011 at DragonCon, story turned in March 2013, approved last week.

This publishing thing grinds along slowly.....

Kevin

That's awesome!

But yeah, publishing takes time. I'm already planning books that won't come out until 2015. Even my self-publishing project is going to take almost a year to get the first book out.
