You can do it girlthing!  Don't let those diapers slow you down, young sprout.  Listen to your ancient elders and prepare to do battle with those evil word processor voodoo spells we hear have been put into just about every one of them new fangled computer/calculator things!

Well, I got the word back on the four stories I submitted to Battlecorps in the last month....

One's been accepted ;D, one rejected :(, and two are still up in the air :-\ :-\. I had to write an Email on one, explaining what was different about this story from one I'd submitted several years ago that was rejected. (I salvaged some of the pieces from the rejected story and wrote another story around them). As for the second one...it's gone to the fact-checkers *Shudders*

Posted about it on my Battletech State blog, (http://thebattletechstate.blogspot.com/) and my reaction to it. Back to work....

Managed to write 2,000 words in my new book this weekend.  And I got the first three chapters of the completed book, "Less than Honorable," uploaded to Book Country.

But I'm worried I crashed the Book Country site with the upload.  The site says its down for maintenance, but I know better.  The server probably blew a fuse with the putrid mess of my attempt to create a decent hook and synopsis.

Anyone have any secrets on writing a decent hook and synopsis?  I'm struggling because my book is third person limited POV, told from multiple characters.

Way to go Turboturtle!

@gatordave96:  Remember just because they're all out to get you doesn't mean that the world revolves around you, accidents and flukes of fate do really happen (fake chuckle as he nervously glances from side to side before running away.)

Oh, I know the world doesn't revolve around me . . . yet.  [Insert evil laugh here.]

I just wish the world would spin its bad juju someplace else for a while.   ::)

@gatordave96: Writing a hook and synopsis shouldn't really be affected by the POV you write. Just keep it snappy, engaging, and give just enough of an idea of the story to get a reader interested, without giving the plot away.

Well it is finally out, Eric Flint has announced "Ring of Fire Press".

It is a venue for novellas from the magazine, mostly stories that are too long for the "best of" yearly anthologies, and too short for their own book.

More specifically to my wife and I, is the release of our novella "No ship for Tranquebar"

http://www.amazon.com/Ship-Tranquebar-Press-Fiction-ebook/dp/B00DIHUNWM/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_t_2_TMEE

It is a first for Karen and I.

Regards,
Kevin
