I'm new here and REALLY enjoying the Dresden Files books! I've just finished book ten and feel like I missed what happened to Lash.
I know she did something to help Harry escape with the vampire "queen".
Is it explained anywhere? What did Lash do such that now she is "gone" (i.e. no more Lash shadow in Harry)? And I assume Harry no longer has hellfire capability? Bummer ...

thanks,
mlloyd1

As Bob explained at the end of White Night, Lash is gone because she directed the damage from Vittorio's mental attack towards the sections of the brain she inhabited rather than the ones Dresden used. I can fetch the quotes explaining this if you wish.

As for whether she's gone for good, read on and find out.

is there a thread with updates on Skin Game?
I died.  There was no life flashing before my eyes.  There were no harps.  There were no white robes.  There was no land of milk and honey.  There were no wings…

I don't think so, but it would be a good idea.
My "Maeve came to Splattercon!!! disguised as a vampire" theory : Maeve did it

I seem to remember a thread about the winter night shorting out as a clue that it was time to change knights.  Unfortunately I am having difficulty finding it.

Haven't posted much here, if at all. Are there any threads compiling a list of unresolved questions that have come up in DF books over time?

I'll be the first to admit that it's a long time since I read the boards, and it's probably my own fault, but I am having trouble with the shorthand arcane initials in common use.  (SAI's)  Is there a complete list of these coded abbreviations somewhere, hopefully in alpha order, that I could print out and keep at hand while reading the topics?  I hope someone can help!  I have all the books in audio form and I've listened to all of them several times, but somehow a lot of the abbreviations stop me cold!

Ok, I wanted to find out about Summer's motives in Small Favor, I'm sure this has been discussed before...

Looking for the WOJ on the list of who can take down Mab. The one that includes the point about the Whole White Court and if they did they woudl get her power.

Looking for the WOJ on the list of who can take down Mab. The one that includes the point about the Whole White Court and if they did they woudl get her power.

Hmmm.  In terms of pure, raw power, several who have appeared or been mentioned in the books could pull it off, though neither side would really "win" as much as "continue to exist."  Plus, the sudden absence of Mab would do freaking HIDEOUS things to the earth.  But here's who has the necessary horsepower do it:

o   Titania--though it would be a coin toss.  Almost literally.
o   The Mothers (who wouldn't)
o   The White Council.  As in, ALL the White Council.  Every wizard on the planet.  And they'd need her Name.
o   Drakul.
o   Ferrovax.
o   The Red Court--again, ALL the Red Court, though their odds wouldn't be good.
o   The entire White Court--very, very long odds on that, but if they actually pulled it off, whoever took Mab would effectively control her power.
o   Cowl (if the Darkhallow had succeeded).
o   A union of the old Elders of the Black Court.  They were freaking scary until the Whites arranged to have them hounded down by mortals.

All of that, of course, assumes that Mab is standing there alone, outside of Faerie, and not commanding an entire nation, literally millions and millions and millions of nightmarish creatures of every description.  Which she does.

There's a REASON that when Mab said, "Sign these Accords and abide by them," people listened. :)

Here you go.
