Aren't automatic pistols pretty much the standard these days? How often do you see someone with a revolver that isn't a theater pistol?

I think he meant fully-automatic weapons, not semiautomatics.

Yep, Mr D covered my meaning.  Barring colloquialisms, it's also the standard use of terms.   Of course colloquialisms abound, so I should have been more precise.

Perhaps you could achieve the affect you want via a talisman of some kind? Thaumaturgy bound within a one use item?
