Up to 161k.  Feels good to end a scene and then think . . . ooh, there's an idea for another scene.

I normally write in bed, lying down, on a laptop.  My back only likes me doing so much of this in any given timespan; and given that I wrote Thursday, my plan had been to sit up watching dumb movies and the like last night, and to write today; and I have ended up with my back still not wanting to lie down today, damn it. So probably tomorrow.

Good job everyone! Sadly with college in sessions I've fallen way behind. With only a chapter and an epilogue left to write it's killing me that I can't find time to finish this draft.

Get a friend who can help you proof read and crank through it looking for errors.  You can do this in today since its still the weekend.

Get the first three chapters done up as perfect as you can make them and
do an outline of the whole story.
3 chapters and an outline is what many publishing places ask for.
You can add a note saying that you have the rest of the chapters but they
need to be proof read first.
That way you keep everybody happy and you don't kill yourself.

Through pass on chapters 8-20 of the book that comes before TISBWO  on Sunday; one more day like that and I will be through this pass, then I have to sort the supplementary material out (I am cutting three chapters for pacing, and that means rearranging all the chapter-header quotes and emails and stuff) and then that thing will be done.  I'm pruning about 10% of the wordcount in general on this pass; this really was fairly overwritten.

Also, as things that seemed cool when I first wrote this in 2002, the thematically significant statues of weeping angels ?  Have to go now, damn it.

I'm 15 pages into my first attempt at writing a novel. This is a lot longer than anything else I've ever written, including the long college papers I copy and pasted from google lol. I'm new here so I look forward to some bits of advice and seeing everyone else's stories...

Broke 40K last night.  Been averaging 600-700 words a day, but I need to sit down and have a couple good 2K sessions. Those seem to happen when I hit a milepost scene where it's Fun and not Work.  Up side?  In the leadup to one of those now...

Added a Cover Image to my Amazon Studios Project to make it more visible.

The greatest part to reading this section of the forum is that I keep seeing so many others having the same issues but finding a way to keep going forward with their writing.

Everyone, good luck with your endeavors as a writer.  Like the great and wise oracle known as the Deposed King, I spent a lot of time in the past not finishing projects.  I know that like the Deposed King, I will keep moving this time.

Kept on writing.  Past page 270 today.
