Good pics although your 'kitchen' one doesn't actually show you in the kitchen, its mostly a view of the sky!  Glad you had a good time.  I'm really happy for you.

As for spelling your name in the wrong order?  Mostly to raz you and give you a bad time.  I mean if we can't tease one another around here where can we!  Also your name has those three parts and I've started to spell it several times and had to go back and check it for the right order.  And calling you girl or wolf just doesn't seem right.  And Cen is too short for a great nickname.

I am really hoping for the best results for your own writing.

Me I finally got rid of the eight 'original' chapters from my 1st draft of Admiral's Gambit after 'discovering' or rather re-discovering the edited chapters, the ones that actually went up online for Admiral Who as the sneak peak.  Which was needful, since the original 8 were mostly done in 3rd person but not entirely.  Which is or rather was just a mess.

So word count is now at 149k.  Also last night I managed to pound out final chapter.  I think I might be at the end of book two.  That was one of my originally envisioned stopping points for book two.  I have two scenes with the chief gunner I wanted to go back and do, and one false alarm dive bombing run by a corvette I think needs inserting.  But other than that....  I might be at the point of waiting for the Alpha reader and all around general editor, my Brother!  Well.... on book two.  there  is still the sneak peak to write for book 3!

Back from vacation.  Up to 155,000 words on my first novel.  Started working on the climax, but I know that there are some lose threads/subplots that need to be worked on.  It is a long and slow process, sometimes.

The three P's in my book are
Production
Production
and...  you guessed it,
Production

You've got to put out the first product so you can come along later and give it the puff.

Anyway have a blast,

I know it can be hard to push a book over the finish line.  You just have to view it as a work of fun and enjoyment and a 'job'.

The first is for when you're on a roll, the second for when you'd rather watch a movie or read someone elses's book.

Couple thousand words this past weekend, but the big accomplishment was the Dreaded Spellcheck.

I've been working on Scrivener, and I shipped the completed sections over to Word to distribute amongst my poor, poor beta-monkeys.  90 pages in Word, 26K words.  (And they're mine!  All mine!  Mwah ha ha ha haaa!)

What made it more fun than a normal spellcheck is that this particular story is a first person narrative with a bit of a dialect.  Nothing so thick and heavy that readers would have to work at sussing out, but the character likes to hold grammar down and tickle it until it pees a little.

Which means telling my spell checker, "No, really, I'm intentionally violating that rule this time."  Again and again.

The dialect thing is kind of weird.  I'd intended a bit of local slang for flavor and maybe the odd amusing Whedonism, but this character just won't let me write her any other way.

My other characters speak plain Trade or T'Ren, they even complain about the kid's teen/backcountry speak.  But I just can't write her narration any other way.

I guess she didn't read that part where Jim says "My characters work for me."

Got a few thousand words today! College starts back up on the 22nd...I really want to have my first draft finished by then. I've got a big course-load this semester, just spent 300 smackers on text/novels for class. Hurt my wee little pocketbook.
