Sometimes balling it up and starting again can be a positive thing.
Just store the ball somewhere you can find it later.

Mine are word files on the laptop... I could just save them to a different folder?

Sounds like an idea.

This project is going much slower, but I'm still enjoying it.

The only thing I ever completed was this year's nano.
That was only because I found a Beta that didn't mind being emailed my efforts at stupid o'clock.

You need to like what you write, otherwise it's never going to work.

What part? The bit about low self asteem or the bit about writing fan fiction?
If the former are you being sarcastic? If the latter. Glad you agree.

Sarcasm?  Me?

I meant it seriously.
Be confident in what you write, and be bold enough to accept criticism.

I have a cold..... :'(

Between the cough, the running nose, and the out of it feeling, I can't think enough to do any writing.... :-[ :(

Sleep.
Dream weird-ass dreams.

Then write them down afterwards.  ;D

Hope the lurgy leaves you soon.

Sorry to hear that.  Get better fast.
Unfortunately, head colds tend to turn your brain into grey jello - which, with your runny nose, you spend most of your time blowing into soggy kleenex. :o :o :o :o
