I Sometimes Write.... (stories and poems)

Some people have told me to publish... others.. they just shrug in a very no committal "I don't care" sorta way....  so i figure.. you are all avid readers.. perhaps i will share a poem and story or to with you fine folks...


I awake to the sun caressing her skin
a gentle stroke on the tip of her chin
soft supple lips so slightly spread
like a small baby rose they hold the color red

silken brown hair falls across her eyes
twined on her pillow where her face lies
behind her lids hide deep pools of amber
her eyes hold such beauty and glamour

each breath she takes her lithe body does rise
her sweet form is perfect i cant deny
my heart beats just a little faster as i touch
emotions swell and burn almost to much

its an ache i feel for her every day
a pain so sweet so gentle in every way
she is all i could ever want and need
she is my angel my warrior in her every deed

we have a love that may not be perfect
but still the fates thought that we fit
each day i get to wake and see again
and watch the sun caressing her skin

VERY good. I've never been a poetry reader (I stick to Poe and my friend Christina's work) but I really liked it. Good job!

The problem with posting that is that can count as first publishing.  Some magazines won't publish you if they know you posted your work anywhere online, especially in a public forum.  Now, I doubt the editors of those mags frequent this forum, so you will probably get away with trying to get it published, but its generally a bad idea to post your work online if you want to publish.

Thanks.. everyone.  Also that is a good point.. but like you said i don't think you have many publishing houses frequenting our little forum here...
