Maybe I will just go with the tried and true "You will owe me a service" for now and then I can tailor it to a whole story down the line. Probably the best way to handle it since the game is on Sunday and I don't want to rush into anything.

That's a good way to handle it if you don't know what you want to do. Fairies like to work their deals so they can keep people under their thumb and possibly work it for more debt if they can swing it.

It also lets them trade that debt away to someone else less... savoury.

Or...make them trade goals. Does someone else have something they really want that has nothing to do with the goal? Yeah. You're gonna need that on you're desk by friday. Been making a super awesome wand of awesome? Neat. Can I have that?

Practice.  Training.  Sparring matches & knowledge of modern weaponry.  Best if done as a once a week or every other week or the like for some period of years - and then, every now and then, you can compel it.  No, I'm sorry, you can't make that meeting - you've got a sparring match scheduled.  Or, you're still bruised and battered from the last sparring match, and are going into real combat at a disadvantage.  Don't do that too often, of course, but - especially if this fae has longer term plans involving the PCs - this is a great way to force them to stay in touch.
