Is Jim ever likely to visit the UK?

For those of us with families, insufficient funds, or indeed both there is no way we could ever get to the US to meet Jim.

Is he ever likely to be able to visit us in the UK instead?

Unlikely for a book signing, but I don't see why he wouldn't attend a sci-fi convention at some point.

London expo for example could be a possibility.

How about Collectormania??  they have two cons per year at Milton Keynes alone, and others dotted around the country...   All very well attended and if he coincided it with a visit when James Marsters was there, he could be double trouble!!

When my friend (who lives in LA) went to get copies of WN signed at Huntington Beach (I think), she asked (I begged her to) Jim if he'd ever visit the UK and he did say that it was something he'd like to do eventually. Hopefully someday.

Collectormania is so much fun if you're with a group of mates. I love how you get major film and television celebrities in a shopping center in Milton Keynes with the stalls all in the middle, crushing you like sardines in a tin. I remember C4 when Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Andy Serkis all came and I got drafted into the Elijah Wood team and had to police the barrier to prevent people without tickets getting by. Sooo exhausting but I did meet a future girlfriend there, so it wasn't all bad (at that time) .

It ain't all Collectormania over here, there are some "proper" cons as well!! (and before ya all jump on me - I've worked for Stu Vandal before at some of them!).

I think it'd be really cool if we could have the "Two Jims Show" - Jim (B) and British author Jim Swallow. Now that could make for an interesting panel or two!!

I'd better go and eat (and catch up with "Torchwood" as we're 2 weeks behind).

There are plenty of Burger Kings in Germany.  And since I'm going to be here for another 3.5 years....  Seriously, Shannon deserves that European vacation.

If he does want to come to the uk, I currently work for Borders/Books Etc and can hook Jim up with some in-store signings, my colleague, Cherry would be over the moon as she enjoys the books too.  Dresden is becoming quite popular over here.  Although I am in London, Edinburgh is my home town and it is beautiful.  Jim will have to try the haggis and whisky.

How about a trip up to a much more attractive part of the UK? Not to dis London or Edinburgh but up here we have a new comic expo and con in Inverness, so there's mountains and a little bit of a Loch to play with as well!
And a Boarders (with all the usual food chains), and it's much closer for some of us! Okay, not many but come on people! Can I be greedy for a bit?
