I know Jim expressed interest in going, as it's so close to GS's release date, but it hasn't been confirmed one way or the other.  Come on, SDCC!

Being sick at the beginning of the year, has shot down even a one day ticket to Comic Con.

By the time I knew I could be well enough to attend they were sold out.

Sorry you did not get tickets .. I know they release some later in the year .. best of luck if you try

Comic con tickets and rooms are a pain. Last year I could only get 2 single day tickets and was lucky enough to have some friends that work for comic con and they helped out. I hope to move to a closer hotel as my current one is 3 miles away .. thank dresden they have shuttles. (last year was less than 1 mile so could walk)
 c
One trick I found out was comic con has a group in Linkedin and an Comic con RSS feed for events .. but it seems the release day for tickets is always iffy .. and the room booking for me at least is always difficult.

Once you get into comic con you can buy next year 4 day with preview at the con. (paying in advance for next years event)

I have rooms, and tickets to the SDCC W00tstock! and The Nerdist Podcast live that will be going on during the con. The new ticketing system this year was an Epic Fail and I was unable to buy tickets even though we were refreshing the damned page all day.

I will be trying to get tickets for the actual con after the refunds are processed, and I think there will be many refunds as I know people accidentally purchased 20 tickets due to the problems with the reg site.

SDCC really needs to find a ticket partner who is able to handle events of this size, because they really dropped the ball this year. It's odd, because there was no problems buying for 2010.

I couldn't get tickets, either, but I live in town & would be interested in meeting up with forumites for dinner :)

I'm going to SDCC. I'm an exhibitor so I won't get much time to explore. I'm at the blanklabel table which is 1330, if anyone would like to say hi. I do free sketches.
I make a comic about an inept Sorcerer learning magic from an angsty vampire. You can read it at http://www.sorcery101.net/sorcery101/s101chapter1/

I'll be at Comic Con, too.  Prolly stuck in the press rooms taking pics.  Hope Jim's on a panel.

I attend as press, but too niche for invites to the press rooms, generally. Every once in a while I get an invite to check out a game or something off-site though.

Unfortunately if you want to go to SDCC, you really have to plan pretty far in advance. The full four-day(+preview night) passes for 2011 sold out at last year's convention, if I remember correctly. And that's without factoring in how fast the hotels book! I'm fortunate in that I have a friend with a house not too far off.

It's actually very odd from a press perspective, because they don't open press registration up until 1-2 months before the event. Their press requirements are fortunately not very demanding (in my experience), because if you waited for press reg and got denied, you'd pretty much be screwed out of going (unless you also got a paid registration).

They actually sold out the day they wen on sale. I am convinced that many people accidentally over-bought because of the website problems with the online ordering process.

I only ever had to do a regular registration once, in like...'04? '05? I don't remember having a problem with the online setup. But...even just five or six years ago it was a pretty different show! :)
