Shattered Realities seems like an awesome game, I am reminded of the Mage series from White Wolf. (which I have never played, but greatly enjoy reading their books)
S.R. Has been a work in progress since 1989 (first hard copy was printed out using a 9pin dot matrix!) and is so big that it has resisted all attempts at capturing in any format that could be published. It's most successful incarnation is as a PBeM running using a wiki.
It works well at conventions because a quirk of the background makes it perfect for people to run old characters they really liked but will never get the chance to run again due to campaigns ended or groups splitting up, or really bad die rolls resulting in an early death. I've had a lot of players find 'closure' running characters they felt still had unfinished business.
Because it is all about the personalities, characters for a variety of different games can successfully play together. I had one con game where we had a CP2020 solo', WOD mage, a D&D half elf ranger, and an giant demonic penguin based on Pengu. It was brill
