So I'm new - Skype talk
« on: May 09, 2011, 01:27:56 PM »
Hey there, the name is Rob and I'm a complete and utter newbie.
I picked up the Dresden Files RPG literally Friday, today being Monday, and unfortunately with one thing and another hadn't had the time to read through until today. Now, I'm not a newbie to RPG's, I've played some World of Darkness, and small time RP's, and I'm not a Newbie to the Dresden Files, reading through all the books up to Side Jobs ((Which is currently sitting next to me only half read)) and watching the TV show. I'm reading through the book and It seems pretty complicated. Maybe that's because I'm not reading it right or I just need to go through it a couple of times, and I suspect most of it would be more use for a GM than anything, but I really want to have a go.
But before I do anything I want to make sure I'm modelling my character's right.
I just want to ask here if there is anyone who would be willing to talk to me one on one, perhaps over Skype or something, that I can talk about my ideas and work with them so that I can get started in a game with someone. I know it could be simpler to post it in the boards, but I do quite like talking to someone about it and getting instant feedback when I can.
My skype name is Soirgriffe, my other email is set to public if someone would prefer to email me.

Perhaps later on, a game could be set up on Skype, as where I live in Jolly Old England, we don't have many RP spots nearby, and Skype offers voice chat, which is nicer than pbp.

Thanks for reading, Rob.

The thing is, character creation is a group effort.  You should really sit down with the GM and the other players involved to make a PC...

Two stages of character creation require feedback from other players.

I've posted a couple threads virtually complete character - they just need the "other player" stuff filled in.  The examples show the background for each phase of a characters development and seeing them might help you a bit.  The threads are at:
