I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Sorry that I almost missed your comment - it came during the time I was trying to find Diablo 3 as enjoyable as its predecessors.
Alas, it's not. Then again, since I don't have a 60th level character in that game, it seems that I'm not playing it the way it was intended...
Back on topic, I'm glad you enjoyed the characters. I've always thought that flawed (as opposed to evil) characters make the best villains. And former victim who goes on to be an abuser - that's a classic approach. When the players can say "I can see how the villain got where he/she is" then it's a more plausible villain than a "I grew up evil and now I'm evil and I'm going to do horrible things because I want to" type villain.
