And aside any suggestions for places in Texas that have  old legends spooky tales about them?

Galveston is FULL of ghost legends.

Google is your friend. I did some digging and found roughly 15 or so ghost-stories etc in Austin alone and many more across the State.

I'm here too, our schedules just aren't compatible, unfortunately.

Regardless, when I was working on the city for my game, I found a lot of different stories and tales.  Bonnie and Clyde are from one of the burb-lets of DFW, there's an entire ghost town around that used to be an artist's commune, there are the tales around White Rock Lake and a lady that drowned there...

There is a LOT of occult-history here in the DFW area.  There are several books that I found in the library and Google worked quite well for me.  I didn't want to get too involved in just ghost stories, though...  I did have fun with the Stockyards in Fort Worth, though.  Blood has been spilling on that ground for a long, long time...

My gaming group in Austin played a one-shot of DFRPG last week!

And being from Lake Jackson, TX, I will recommend the excellent book Ghosts Along the Brazos by Catherine Munson Foster and Ruth Munson, a collection of ghost stories from the Brazos River region of southeast Texas.  It was locally quite famous in my youth.

Oh, actually, when Googling for a link to provide, I found this great list of books containing Texan ghost tales and legends....

I second Galveston. Not only does it have some rich mythology, but it's close enough to Houston for some big city interaction.
