Wheeee!!! I'm so excited!!!!  :D   :D   :D

Excited but nervous.  Have never been to a "Con"...did go to a Star Trek Convention in 1972 in Baltimore...met Sulu & Chekov...but that was before many of you were born ::).  Never done RPG on line or in person.  Never dressed up as character in book.  Lordy, lordy, lordy, WHAT have I been doing with my life until now?????  Wasting it away, clearly!  ;D ::)

I've never been to a con either.  I do like making costumes, though.

As am I ! The ride down should be full of awesome for Star and I we will have Noey plus Matt and Gilly yay !

yeah well i'm STILL trying to see if i can't get out of work a little early.  i put a cutoff for scheduling at 11am. so in theory i should be able to get out a little earlier. plus mum said she might cover some.  that way hopefully i can get there before the end of the party.
and grasshoppers can't talk anyway, dammnit!

Star Trek con? That counts. And from the description, this one's relatively small.  If it makes you feel any better, this is the first time Whingnut's gonna be dressed up in costume, too. (after repeatedly saying it's not something he'd do.)  :D

This is probably one of the first times that I've gone out and bought what I needed for a costume.  I usually just put together things that are already in my closet.  I'm not sure what kind of reflection that is on my wardrobe...

My first con too.  My nerdlyness always went in other directions.

Seems like a first for a lot of us (costumes, Con attendance, etc.)...comfort in numbers I say!  ;D  I guess, technically, I have been to a Con, but back then we still called them Conventions   ;)  I say we all do it up right, even if we have no idea what we're doing!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :o

Having an idea what you're doing is highly overrated.  :P

I've been to the GDC (game developers conference) a few times, but I haven't been to a convention before.  One of the best parts of GDC was watching a plus sized woman win best costume as Vivi (FF:IX) by quite a margin over the slutty costumes.

Also: meeting Tim Schafer (Lucasarts adventure games, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, etc...) and attending a keynote by Shigeru Miyamoto (Mario creator)
Okay, I flipped the breaker, pulled the fuses, and blew up the transformer.

Go plus sized women!  ;)

What about a plus sized woman's slutty costume (J/K!!!)  ;)

It's all in the creativity and using what you have to work with that counts, I guess.  ;D

This is going to be fun... :)

Does anyone know the site's stance on weapons?  No real guns (obviously) but are swords/axes ok if they are peace-bound?

This is what they had to say earlier about it.  It looks like peace bonded is ok.

Quote
I noted a question about our weapons policy - No realistic looking modern weapons i.e. guns etc. without them being checked by the con staff/security. If we feel comfortable then we will identify it as being okay. As for swords, they must peace bonded and if you are seen pulling the sword in a public area we reserve the right to ask you to leave the con. Probably won't do that, but we reserve the right.

Thanks :)

The only remaining question is how do we peace-bind your fangs? J/k :P
