*shrug* I don't think so. Plenty of people I know outline before November.
Honestly, do what works for you. If you're worried about the spirit of the Challenge, then follow the rules to a T. If you want to focus more on what you're churning out, do a kind of modified-NaNo.
But whatever you do, DON'T EDIT IN NOVEMBER. It is the one unforgivable sin.

omg, that Scrivener offer has me drooling. I'm dl-ing the beta when it comes out, but I'm not sure if I'll use it for NaNo. Too many distractions.
