DFRPG discussed on Actual People, Actual Play podcast
« on: September 12, 2010, 07:58:17 PM »
A few of my friends and I do a podcast called Actual People, Actual Play. It's not a recording of play session. We recap the fiction created during play, then discuss how the rules interacted with what we did during the session. We just started a series on The Dresden Files RPG. You can check us out over at http://apap.libsyn.com/ The DFRPG starts with Episode 32 where we talk about city creation. Also a few months Back, we had Ryan Macklin on Episode 24 to talk about a Dresden game he ran for us at a local convention here in L.A.

Thanks for those Will.
My only problem was that there was no discussion of aspects and compells. It seems like it is assumed that the listener is already knowledgeable about the game.
Other than that I dug them.
I'll be grabbing more episodes for sure.

Thanks Mattastic,

We touch on aspects a little more next episode, which covers character creation. We will also go into more depth in one of the episodes covering a regular game session.

In the mean time you can hear us sound of more about aspects in Episode 21. That episode is part of the series we did on Diaspora, another FATE game. The material won't be 100% relevant to Dresden, but should still be useful.

Episode 24 was one of the first podcasts I listened to for learning about the Dresden Files and it was one of the main elements that really got me into this game - learned a lot from Ryan's comments on how he ran the game as well.

I just listened to it again and realized the whole thing would be an awesome intro to first-time players who want to know "What the heck is this game about...?"

Good times - looking forward to the next episode.

The Walking Eye podcast has a couple of episodes of DFRPG actual play up, city creation and character creation. http://www.thewalkingeye.com/

Fair warning, if I recall correctly, The Walking Eye tends a bit more toward the explicit than Actual People Actual Play.

Listened to it last night and love the fallen star idea; not as enamoured with the bit about Marcone's changeling daughter, but thats admittedly my own preference to stay away from the canon characters.

Loving that all these podcasts are starting to come out!
