Aspects of different "Power"
« on: July 27, 2010, 09:00:41 PM »
So I think it is fair to say that some aspects seem more powerful than others.

"Scraped Knee" vs. "Glued to the ground."
Or
"Winded" vs. "Comatose"

Is there any text that describes the limits of these types of aspects. such as using a maneuver to place the aspect "Dead" on someone.

Unless they're Consequences or the result of being Taken Out, Aspects placed with Maneuvers should be temporary, with the possibility of being removed with some sort of Skill roll, even if it's just using Endurance to shake it off.  Trying to apply the "Dead" Aspect to someone generally isn't temporary, so you can't do it with a Maneuver, you have to actually make it a Take Out.

I don't think its explicitly stated, but the game is written with the assumption that aspects cannot be invoked to instantly cause a Take Out result. And, barring that, there aren't really any super powerful Aspects. "BROKEN RIBS" and "BRUISED SHINS" both provide the same amount to attacks tagging them, for example.
