El Paso/Juarez
« on: July 11, 2010, 04:43:36 PM »
So yesterday I started my first game. I had a great time making the city and helping the Player make their characters.
Here is some of the things we did with it.
Aspects:
The board between:To signify the importance of the boarder between U.S.A. and Mexico, I also said the there is a boarder between Winter and Summer here in the Never Never.
Old faith: This is because the oldest still used churches for each country is in each of these towns. Both were made in the 1600s so just a little bit of faith has been stored up here. Also can be used to invoke native American magics too.
Cartels at war: Come on, with the death toll in the area from the cartel fighting  it's just too prefect of a reason to have the place swarming with reds.

The locations of importance.
Fort Bliss: US Army Military base. Second largest military base with 1,700 square miles of area. Known for having a large maneuvers facility for both live fire and simulated round and being the training base for missile defense team. It is also home to the Department of Occult Management (D.O.O.M.). A S.I. like federal task force.
Aspect: More then just the military.
Face Agent Jefferies:

Mission Ysleta/Mission de Guadalupe
One of the oldest continuously use churches in the US. Was founded in 1692 and an equally old church for Mexico.
These weren't fleshed out due to the main religious character not being able to be there.

The Dinner El Salvador
All night diner in a middle class area of El Paso. Accorded Neutral Ground.
Faces Teri(bartender), Claire(Cook), Natalie(head waiter) Three cousins who own the place.

Zin Valle Winery
Local renowned winery that is often the host of high end events for the culture elite.
Aspect: Wine and plots.
Face John Bishop. WCV who holds grudges.

Zona Pronaf
District in Juarez filled with trendy clubs, high end shops and restaurants.
There is also a dungeon fetish club run by Domina Divantra
Aspect: Fun and feeding for all.
Face: Domina and Larry.

Parque Xtremo
The largest extreme park in Latin America.
Home of the North America's best roller derby arena
Aspect where all kinds go for action.

Rio Grande
River boarder between the US and Mexico. Four major bridges and one passenger rail line cross it.
Aspect Boarder between the Realms.
Face Rill an exceptionally tall and powerful river troll(confined to the river not just the bridge). Is known to be the leader of a group of neutral fae.

The Brink: A mental hospital built into an old quarry. This is a place of power where lay lines seem to come together.
Aspect: Something dark in the basement.
Face Zack Taylor. He isn't the guy in charge, but he has a lot of influence on the things that go on there.

The PCs:
Were decided that with all the threats the red court is in the area that it could be a place that would be able to handle a full submerged group.
Chandler Blairington 4th. Is a pure mortal. He is a defrosted 1920 pulp hero. Being frozen in the fae for so long seems to have made him slightly crazy. He is focused on wealth, fists, and investigation. He is defiantly having a hard time dealing with the time shock.

Ingrid: A white court vampire virgin. She is researcher by day, roller derby brute by night. She focused on athletics, might, fists, and scholarship with powers of speed and toughness.

Juan Carlos Ramirez: a Minor talent who world walks. He is a transporter of questionable good who knows just about everyone he could want to know. Focused on Contacts and social abilities.

Domina Divantra-White court vampire who heads her own small clan. She is sister to Ingrid and is the definition of S+M Goddess. She focuses equally on combat and social defense with the standard WCV powers. She hates the reds because of past misdeeds.

There will be one-3 more players joining the game next session. One of the players will be a priest with sponsored soulfire magic.

The People who know each at the beginning of the game was Juan to Ingrid and Chandler, and Ingrid to Divantra.
Chandler has a family of employees come to him saying how they had paid for a Coyote named Cal to bring across one of their children and the foul man had taken the child and the money and not delivered on his promise.

Chandler thinks of villainous people and immediately thinks of Juan. Flash scene and Chandler is discussing the problem and it turns out not only does Juan know him but Cal trained Juan in the business. Knowing what he does about Cal he thinks the Chandler and him are not enough to take on Cal in a fair fight. So he calls on Ingrid.

Chandler of course makes a fool of himself while talking to the headstrong Ingrid, but they not only manage to convince her to come(for a great deal of money) but to also call in for a little extra muscle from her sister Divantra.

When the go to collect Divantra, Chandler gets bright red and leaves the dungeon as fast as his legs will carry him. The group talks Divantra into going easily since she wants to protect her head strong little sister.

Juan easily is able to find out which one of the safe houses is currently being used. They arrive and proceed to split the party. Juan goes around back to cover the back door while the other three go into the front.

The three in the front see Cal putting a large box into a pocket that should not be able to contain such a large box. He start asking what they want when Ingrid spouts off "This is the time we banter back and forth before we beat you senseless." At that Cal shifts from human to coyote form and initiative. Cal gets to go first and starts sprinting away from his unknown attackers. He does somewhat decent. Problem despite his inhuman speed the two WCV are just as fast and with some decent rolling so is the human. All three pretty much keep up with him for a round when he ducks out the dog-y door exit in the back.

Juan during this time heard the shouting in the building and jumps in a dumpster to give himself cover and aims at the dog-y door. When Cal comes shooting out of the door Juan squeezes off a shot and applies the mild consequence of winged on the poor guy. Divantra in stead of trying to force her way thru the door she simply dives thru the dog-y door as well. Ingrid tries to slam the door down but does not roll high enough to quite do it. The DM invokes her Llama hardheadedness to not allow the big burly pure mortal to help thus slowing both her and the Chandler down a round.

Divantra seeing the bad guy getting away still throws a knife at him, realizing the it wasn't a good enough attack to damage tags his winged and thus applies another consequence of bleeding onto him.

Ingrid break down the door and Chandler starts again after the speedy Cal. The other soon fall into line behind him. Because of a bad roll Ingrid and Divantra pass by Chandler and see Cal(back in human form) take the box out of the jacket(only thing he still had on) and let it float away up to a huge fat guy on the raised bridge above them.

Divantra was able to see this as well as a gentlemen in a wheel chair down the embankment as well as the guy above. She recognizes the guy on the bridge as a bigwig of one of the cartels, but is unable to figure out who the guy in the chair is. Ingrid was only able to see the fat guy and no one else noticed the other two.

Ingrid slams into Cal putting a maneuver of on the ground dazed on him. Divantra then places a blocking grapple on him. At this point a River troll comes up out of the water near the bridge and asks them what they think they are doing in his domain.

At this point Juan catches up being the slowest of the group and he compels to say that he knows this River troll as Rill and that he has an agreements in place thus avoiding what could have been a battle. Instead the enter into a social conflict with Cal. Cal also has an agreement with Rill so the group is not able to steal his item of power or beat on him any more. We had to speed up here for one of the players having to leave.

The come to find out that Cal had not transported anything but items for the Juárez cartel in almost a year. The group finds out that it was in fact a ploy by the Beltrán-Leyva Cartel to try to disrupt the delivery of the item or at least mess up the delivery boy.

A problem arises for the Domina Divantra. Her club seems to have become a a funnel point for tainted drug distribution. She got this information from a reliable source and started taking action to find out about it. She contacted Juan to have him see if he could find out about who would be likely to be behind the problem. Juan start doing his thing to find out. He realized that if he did this he would attract the attention of a cartel. He went ahead and did so.

He came up with five names and delivered them to Divantra. She and Chasca(formerly known as Ingrid) decided to call in three of her people to interview them. They first talk to Daniel the bouncer of the club. They find out pretty much nothing from him. He was a clued in mortal who tries his best to keep things safe at the club.

Next Chasca went in talk to Rebeca Wright while Divantra called Chandler to help with an interrogation. Chasca starting blurting out questions to one Rebeca Wright, one of the S+M mistresses and WCV, about weather she was the one moving drug in and out of the club and trying to be intimidating. With several horrible rolls trying to do this she get nothing but a reply of "Oh the puppy is so cute when it acts all intimidating." Divantra finally comes in and successfully rolls the first intimidate check of the game but only by one stress. Rebeca rolls great on several deceit checks to make it seem like she is cowed. The believing that she has nothing to do with the drug either and go onto the next person.

Chandler arrives for the third interrogation and asks to take the lead. Divantra allows it. Chandler walk into the room with the last guy a Jorge Estrada, WCV banker, and without preamble hits him with a pair of bolt cutters. With his roll he does a moderate wound to him which is hair line crack to the hip. As the guy squeals in pain Divantra moves to restrain Chandler from doing any more damage and fails her roll on the block. Chandler looks down ad Jorge and tell him to start talking. Jorge makes the mistake of calling Divantra a whore for letting this brute accost him. That's enough for Divantra to order him to be hit again. Chandler offened that someone would use such language about such a nice cow girl(I mean why else would someone be wearing chaps, a whip and all that leather?). He stands the guy up and smashes him in the face doing a severe wound to him of broken eye socket. At this point Chasca has had enough to seeing a fellow clan member get beaten and successfully restrains Chandler. Divantra then starts asking him questions and believes him when he tells her that he had nothing to do with the drugs as well.

Divantra is frustrated and calls on John Bishop the local head of all the WCV's to arrange a meeting with a Sarah LoCostor. He agrees to the meeting and set it up for the next day. Meanwhile Juan winds up getting asked by two burly guys to please get into a limo. Being the smart guy he is, he knows its not the type of question you can say no to. The guys drive him into one of the worse neighborhoods in all of Juárez. The find a small alley that leads downwards into this cities version of the undertown. Once there they lead him to a safe room where Beltran of the Beltran-Levay brothers cartel is. He rolls a few intimidate checks while asking why Juan was looking into his affairs. Thanks to several rapport rolls Juan was able to keep himself from getting killed by offering his services as an information broker to Beltran. Beltran seems interested and also knows that Juan is a courier too. Beltran agrees and lets Juan go.

The next day Divantra and Chasca go to the meeting with John and Sarah. Before they all sit down Divantra asks to speak with John in private to see if she can get a one on one with Sarah like she did with the others. John hears out why and just grins. He explains that not only does he know who is responsible for these actions, but he has proof of it. He is willing to give her this information if Divantra is willing to do him a favor. He was looking to procure a large amount of anti venom from a focused practitioner who was not very subtle about what he was making. Thus it is likely that reds may be trying to harm those wishing to traffic in them.

The group gathers together with a new guy named Father Alejandro Reyes. Divantra knew him and they got him to act as the big gun for the fight that might be coming. They tracked out to the mountains where they were suppose to meet with Emeril the alchemist. Juan stops about 100 yards out and sets up his sniper rifle. The other four goes on up to the camp. The guys just walk on up and start working the deal with Emeril. Emeril start getting nervous about why Bishop would send so many people. When Divantra says the red's may know about this deal Emeril starts wondering if Bishop was setting them all up. As he said that his head was blown apart as a sniper opens up and the combat begins. Three vampires come in for melee while another person is sniping. Juan snipes one of the vampires doing little damage. Chasca grapples one of the vampires and really really does well hold him until the other two are down.

Divantra went around shooting the vampires with holy watch to eliminate their armor bonus and is able to dance out of the way of most attacks. Chandler is able use his fists to great effect and to take out the vampire he was fighting within a few rounds of combat and then went over to finish off the vampires Chasca had grappled. Reyes took at least one big hit and was able to take out one on him. Juan wound up trading sniper shots with the other sniper. Each kept trying to hide and failing at it but only hit each other once. But with sniper rifles that's often enough to make people rethink the idea of fighting.

So the group collects up the anti venom and notice that Emeril was wearing a mask and that was not what he really looked like. They deliver the items back to John Bishop and he give Divantra a video tape shot in her club of Rebeca Wright selling drugs to someone. Divantra watch Rebeca, but it unable to gain extra proof. They finally decide to grab her up and hold for a while. The group also hires someone to search her club for the devices and are not able to find the one that took the video proof. They did find where a least two other devices were but they were both poor quality ones.
