Reposting this for the benefit of newcomers who might not be able to see past the fun but ultimately off-topic commentary in the past few pages:
Folks, remember that the chatroom's rules are the same as the forum's rules: no Touchy Topics (Religion, Politics, for example), no jerkish behavior, etc. Let's behave like the chatroom isn't equal to "school's out, flip all the teachers off during the summer", okay? It might be summer camp, but remember that summer camp can send you home. Someone brings something to our attention or we stumble on it ourselves, we're going to look at it with the sort of unkindess one should expect when caught sneaking around behind our backs saying "F-YOU" to Iago for all the work he put into this place. If you're getting irritated with someone, go somewhere else, read something else, whatever. Because if Chatbox turns into another Touchy Topics, it's going to go live with Touchy Topics.
* I am reposting this because, apparently, both newbies and long-term members who should know better by now are getting a bit snippy as well as wandering into Touchy Topics areas. I remind you: no snide, snippy, hurtful, insulting or otherwise socially unacceptable behavior in the chatroom. If you're busting someone's chops, make sure it's clear as day that it's in good humor. If you don't do that, you're GOING to be assumed to be going off the rails and we WILL send the cleanup crew to scrape it all up and flush it.
Summary: dudes, be righteous unto each other. Unrighteousness shall be met with the flaming results of a thousand jalapeno burritos. And in light of the aforementioned directive not to cast aspersions at others, "I didn't mean it that way" is NOT an excuse.
