I just made these for a Master Enchanted idea, I was testing out.

Shielding Belt: (3 slots)
Description:  This belt is enchanted to use the transformation power of water magic to steal
1/2 the energy from any physical attack that could strike him, and then turn
that into a field of force to repel the attack.
Power:         Armor 4, or Block 8
Uses:           4 per session

Blade of Burza:   (2 slots)
Description:  This sword is forged from iron ore melted by a lightning strike.  When used it
can command lightning to channel up from the earth and then out towards the
                   targets.
Aim:            Uses Lore to direct the strike.  (I am not sure whether that would be allowed,
might need to use Weaponry instead.)
Power:         Weapon 6, or Weapon 4 to a Zone.  (Not sure if that is legitimate either.)
Uses:            6 per session

Glove of Stal Draza: (2 slots)
Description: This is a glove that can perform a maneuver to disarm a target for a very long
                  time.
Power:        4 Shifts of Power
Uses:          6 per session
Duration:    3 exchanges
Opposed:    This is resisted by might

The following items are for my Gruff-fathered Changeling Sorcerer, who has Lore 5 and a Crafting specialization in frequency (already factored into the stats of the Enchanted Items):

His only Focus is a Spiral-etched Oak Staff topped with a ram’s head: Air Offensive Control 2. It also serves as a Weapon: 2 bludgeon.
For enchanted items, he has three slots invested in his shield pendant, a kite shield-shaped carving of marble on a silver chain, which provides a Fantastic (+6) block 4 times a session.
His last slot is a ring he keeps around for emergency mind-shielding: It is fashioned of copper and embossed with runes meaning “no” in a dozen dead languages. It operates by generating mental "static" to block out any invasive effects, providing Armor: 2 against mental stress 3 times a session.

In a game I'm running, I also have a few other items of note, primarily those of the Spring Knight. His Item of Power Sword has all of his focus slots tied up granting one to Offensive and Defensive Control. As an Item of Power, it is a Rapier with Weapon: 2 granting Inhuman Strength and Inhuman Speed, as well as reducing the Toughness powers of anything containing Autumn essence (I've ruled that the older Winter fae often have an Autumn tie due to being around when Winter absorbed the weaker Court, so it's not actually a waste there).
The Spring Knight also has a belt of black leather with a silver buckle in the shape of a Oroboros serpent, which provides a strength 3 veil three times a session.

Note on the Changeling Sorcerer:

By the rules you can pick between the Armor and Block effects for defensive Enchanted Items every time you use them, on the fly. Look at Harry's Duster for an example.

I've seen that on the Duster, but I couldn't find the rules where it said you could do that with the same item--I assumed it was presenting two different interpretations of how it worked.

It's the default way that magical defenses work. Rotes, Items, on the fly Spells, it can all be used as one or the other, hence the lack of specific rules.

Well, I know they could be one or the other when the defense is created. I can't find the passage where it says you can switch between them once the effect is established. A page reference would be very helpful :)

Oh, it's only chosen when the effect is created, you're quite right. But neither a Rote nor an Item are an effect...a particular usage of them is, just like an individual casting. That's just the way it works, as stated specifically and repeatedly by the developers.

Oh, okay. I get it. But, for a different example, if I make a Great block with two exchanges of duration with my Fantastic casting, can I turn it into Armor: 2 during the second exchange?

Back, on topic, what do people think of a Item of Power containing Refinement, particularly a Focus Item Refinement? It seems like a really cool idea to have a Item of Power that also has built in Focus Item slots, and that would be a good way to model it, seeing as how normally, Focus Items can be broken or reassigned.

No, that you couldn't do. It's one or the other for as long as the effect lasts.

Yeah, that should work fine, and be a mighty mystic item indeed, potentially anyway.

What about reusing spell power like Ramirez's shield? (Are you talking about spells or items, if items I misunderstand what you were referring to :P )

Either-or. And you can shift them to an entirely different effect, like an attack, but I'm pretty sure you're notallowed to shift between different kinds of shield mid-usage. Not by default, anyway. Though thinking about it, I might be wrong on that one...I'll have to re-check the books sonetime soonish.

You could redirect the energy from the block to make it armour, but that takes up a standard action so it's not at all ideal. The interesting thing is that as it doesn't require a targeting roll, and as you've already got a successful control roll for the energy, you would automatically succeed at that redirection.

As far as I can see, there is nothing to stop you using the item to create another block effect even if the original block effect is still up and running. I also can't see any rules against nesting one block inside another block, either as armour or as a standard shield, so that when one block is overwhelmed the second block takes the remaining damage.

I guess you could even redirect the power from the first block in to extending the duration of the second block, again with no control/aim roll as long as you are the target for it.

This could potentially be pretty powerful (if a little cumbersome) and the book is light on examples so I could be wrong, however the rules suggest this could be true and it makes narrative sense.
