Writing Horror, and you scare yourself enough that you can sleep, are you doing it right?

Actually my wife is editing our SF/Mystery/Horror book that we will be pitching at Nasfic. The last scene was so traumatic that she had to "walk it off" when she realized that she was walking out side in the dark. (Grin) I got a call immediately at work.

Kevin

I confess that I don't read Stephen King...  *shudder* for just that reason...

My mom read me some Stephen King for a bedtime story one night when I was a wee lad...

And I scare myself with my writing, but it's more about form and structure, rather than the subject matter ;)
