Spoiler Opt-Out
« on: March 22, 2010, 02:59:03 PM »
Is there a way of opting out of the spoiler-tag system?

By that I mean is there a way I can make it so that I don't have to bother selecting everything in order to see through spoiler tags?

Nope.

There might be a more complex answer: if you wrote your own cascading style sheet and instructed your browser to override this website's stylesheet with your own, it might affect the spoiler tags, I'm just not *certain* it would.

It's a long time over-due, but thank you. I'm now spoiler-tag free and feeling good...

Not that I'm looking for it, but would it be possible to exclude the spoiler button from a theme? Then people who didn't care about the black hover could just use that theme?

I remember having a problem with a theme where the item viewer (displayed the Warcraft item when you hovered over the word) wouldn't work on some themes and had to be tweaked. Maybe it would work in reverse?

I'm not looking to maintain more than one theme, honestly.

Well, I am running Firefox on Ubuntu and all I have to do is mouse over the spoilered out area and the text becomes visible.  It is much nicer than needing to select, but an OS change to get that small of a functional difference doesn't seem like it would be your best choice.
Well believe me, Mike, I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.

The newest spoiler tag function works that way for me, too.  (Chrome, Windows 7)  I think it's designed to work that way.

The problem with Iago providing themes is that any board add-ons he's done may or may not work with other themes.  It's a mess.  I had to give up on themes on the board that I run.  And I don't know anything about servers.  It may be that it would bog us down even more.

I think the tag is "onmouseover" but I could be wrong.
