Haunted Places in San Francisco:

San Francisco Arts Institute ~ Russian Hill ~Supposedly built on a cemetery in the early 1900 after an earthquake, it is haunted by a few restless spirits.

Ocean Beach Sutro Bath - The sutro baths have quite a history behind them, as well as the tunnel that lies directly to the right of the old sunken building. It has been said that many people have been sacrificed at the end of this tunnel, and if you go at night fall and light a candle at the end of the tunnel someone will come and pick it up and throw it into the water that rushes up just beyond the rocks.

Abandoned Army Hospital building on the Presidio: haunted by ghosts of dead soldiers.  Rumors are even the SFPD won't go in here.  Also: Presidio Offers' Club supposedly houses uniformed ghosts.

Neptune Society Columbarium/Odd Fellows Cemetery ~ this place looks SWEET!

Queen Anne Hotel ~ Formerly Miss Mary Lake's School for Girls.  Supposedly haunted by the comforting female presence of the ghost of Miss Mary Lake.

The Mansions Hotel ~ built in 1887 ~ haunted by the ghost of Claudia Chambers, niece of silver tycoon Richard Chambers and died under mysterious circumstances reported as "farm implement accident."

Park at Bush & Octavia ~ haunted by the ghost of Mary Ellen Pleasant, Civil Rights Activist and Voodoo Priestess.

Ghost Ship of San Francisco ~ an 1886 windjammer schooner ghost ship that occasionally sails the Bay.  Spotted frequently, but most famously by the crew of the destroyer U.S.S. Kennison on the morning of Sept. 15, 1942.

Golden Gate Park's Stow Lake ~ The Woman of Stow Lake haunts the lake at the Japanese Tea Garden

Haskell House on Fort Mason ~ haunted by US Senator David Broderick who died after a duel.

Angel Island ~ site for Miwok Native Americans, first landing site for the Spanish, first European entry into SF Bay.  Was a Camp during the Civil War, infantry garrison during the US campaign against the Native Americans, troops embarking and returning from WWI & II, became a Japanese and German POW interment camp, and finally a missle base.  Now CA state park.  Wow, lot of history there.

Someone has to do the Cameron House/Occidental Board Mission House listed above.  LOL.  Even if it's me.  Besides the San Francisco Art Institute, there are probably more rumors about it being haunted than anywhere else in SF.

Yes.  Yes I am.

Also, I didn't add Alcatraz as Luminos already said he was taking it.  That place totally gave me the heebie jeebies. (Yes, a very scientific and technical term.)

There is the Winchester House in San Jose (been here a gazillion times, not terribly spooky although C did have some weird reactions here, it is next to movie theatres and a fancy mall, not really suited to anything public) and The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz could also be places of interest...

Location:
Name: Nob Hill Masonic Center
Description: Place for concerts, the arts, and the community; also serves as front for local Venatori Umbrorum section of the Masons.
Theme/Threat (Not sure here)
The Idea: Working against White Court local power plays
The Aspect: Mortals Fighting Back
The Face: Connor Bevan

Further Information: The Nob Hill Masonic Center officially serves as one of the main centers for the Freemasons to perform community outreach.
Unofficially, it is also a front. A good part of the profits from the various concerts, arts events, and so on at the center go to fund the Venatori Umbrorum branch of the local Freemasons. Not all members of the local Mason chapter know of this connection; only the top few, including Connor Bevan.
There is a hidden door to a stairway in the manager's office; this stairway, wedged into the construction, leads to a tunnel running parallel to the parking garage for a short distance. It then connects to a series of underground rooms that house the information and tools necessary for the work of the Venatori. There are (of course) smaller caches around the city, but this is the main one. Between the wards engraved on the area, and the presence of a nearby church, the Venatori manage to keep smaller supernatural hunters away. The more dangerous sort are kept away primarily through a combination of secrecy, and aggressive enforcement of the boundaries.

Face:
Name:Connor Bevan
Is the face of: Nob Hill Masonic Center
High Concept: Local Venatori Umbrorum leader
Motivation: Stand against the darkness for the sake of my fellow men.
Relationships: (To be determined)

Location:
Name: El Camino Real: The Missionary Road
Description: The Red Court established fortified bases throughout North America starting in the sixteenth century called Presidios.  From here they defended themselves against supernatural and mortal threats and feasted on the local Native American and increasing immigrant population.   Spanish missionaries established a series of religious outposts to faciliate safe travel for mortals enabling them to find shelter at night (located 30 miles apart, or one day's ride on horseback).  Padres wandered this road, placing blessings upon it and sprinkling it with mustard seed as mustard not only bloomed bright yellow, but is an irritant to Red Court Vampires much like Garlic is to the Black Court.

San Francisco contains both a Presidio and a Mission.   The San Francisco Presidio has many haunted buildings, most notably the Army Hospital, well known feeding site for the Red Court.

Theme/Threat: Historical and current Vamp/Religious turf war affects White Court grab for power.
Balance of Power: Red Court trying to take back the Presidio

Faces: Mortals who run the Missions are In The Know.

*If someone wanted to come up with a specific face of the person who runs Mission Dolores in SF or the gang of punk RC vamps roaming around the Presidio, that would be cool with me.  I'm not really good with the faces.

Added a bit to the Nob Hill blurb. Still feels rough, but it gets across my general point.

Location
Name: Sts. Peter and Paul Church
Description:  The church is a Catholic church located in the center of San-Francisco's Little Italy, overlooking Washington Square.  It has been the home to both San-Francisco's Italian Cahtolics, but it also serves as a home for the growing Chinese Catholic population and offers services in Italian, Mandarin, and English.
Theme\Threat: A safe place for those in need, from the poorest to the richest.
Aspect:  Holy Home Away From Home
Balance of Power:  The Church has long stood as a home of true believers, and continues to be a place of beauty and refuge in the night.
Faces:  Most of the Priests and attendants are true believers who are not clued in.  Father Columbano on the other hand knows that demons have real faces, as well as figurative ones.

Theme\Threat: San Francisco's Accorded Neutral Territory
