Hunger and Spellcasting
« on: April 21, 2010, 10:03:51 PM »
So, after that little mess with enchanted items, this time I'm playing with the idea of hunger - we're using a White Court Spellcaster for the example. The idea is pretty simple in theory - a White Court Vampire could call on his Hunger to help with a particularly devastating spell. The way he'd do this is absorbing any backlash stress to his Hunger track. But only wizards (who obviously don't have a hunger track) are used in the example, so it's noted that they can take the stress as physical or mental. You've probably figured out my question by now: Can White Court Spellcasters take backlash to their Hunger track?

I like it, it seems like they should be able to use the power they gain from feeding in magic, maybe make up a stunt that lets them do it.

Aye, that was the idea. Taxing your hunger with the spellcasting, while dangerous, could be a damn good way to explain the Vampiric types especially dangerous and potent magic, for example.

Sounds plausible enough to me.
THE DOCTOR: I'll do a thing.
RIVER SONG: What thing?
THE DOCTOR: I don't know. It's a thing in progress. Respect the thing!
