If lava flowing from Eyjafjallajokull melts the glaciers that hold down the top of Katla, then Katla could blow its top, pumping gigantic amounts of ash into the atmosphere.

 How in the frack is a lava flow from 1618meter Eyjafjallajokull supposed to melt the ice at 1450meter Myrdals Jokull to relieve glacial pressure on Katla?

I have no volcanoes in my WiP.  I do however have a key thing in the one next down the pile where a lack of volcanoes is plot-significant.

I admit, I'm tempted by an interesting world view.

5 Volcanos explode around the same time through out the world, effectively grounding air traffic the world over.

A global Economy with internet speeds, and boat traffic I think that could be amusing.
