does Amelia sound like a good name for a vampire who is over a hundred years old but looks like she is still in her early teens, ie. between 13 and 16.

It's a very nice, old-fashioned name.  Unfortunately, what comes to mind when I hear 'Amelia' in connection with vampires will always be the character who got munched on by Lykans in Underworld.

For old fashion names you could try Pearl, Opal, Arabella.

If you want her to go a little "goth"

Mildred = Dread
Gertrude = Rude
Margaret = R'gret

But for a really great old fashioned name you've got to use Esmeralda

Would also help to get a feel for what country of origin said character came from. If you wanna get REAL technical, what ethnic background were the characters parents?

i am doing vampires a little differently than most books, how their society evolved is that they are sophisticated predators, so they kinda have big cat like mentality, not overtly aggressive but you are well aware that they can rip you apart easily.

as for where they come from, in my world they are from the other side of the Vail, one of the darker worlds but there is still heavy human influences in the past seven thousand years.

It was my best friend growing up sister's name.  Her father was a German scientist that came over after WWII.  Still it would work with WWI time frame as well.

All the vampire type names seem...too vampy.  And how do you ever beat out Drusilla?
