I THOUGHT you had said 14, but I seriously couldn't remember LOL  And since I was in the contest too, I couldn't "review the footage" to check!  :D

At first it was 4, but then I think Priscellie read it as a 9 when I was walking the runway, and it's been different ever since. Hey, I didn't even have a speaking part. One of them extras, right? *snorfles*

I gave up on spelling out last names when writing down the finalists.

I don't blame you.  I have given up on spelling my own last name; it's ridiculous.

I just wanted to chime in and thank the fan dinner organizers!  Everything was fabulous right down to the details!  The drink menu, the trivia questions . . . you guys went all out.  :)

Thanks also to folks who put up photos!  And now we see that I'm unfortunately just as much of a lurker in real life as on the nets (I'm the blond head with the scary red eyes):

ALERA JEOPARDY

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

100: “[He] was a tall and handsome young man, regal of bearing and narrow of face. He wore his hair in long curls, considered fashionably decadent in the southern cities—particularly in his home of [BEEP]. His academ's robes were made of the finest of cloth, tailored personally to fit him, and embroidered with threads of pure gold. His lanyard shone with beads of semiprecious stones rather than cheap glass, and lay heavily on his chest with multiple representatives of all six colors—one for each area of furycrafting: red, blue, green, brown, white, and silver.”
(click to show/hide)

200: “She was a pale creature, her skin so white that it almost seemed translucent, and her hair—quite short, for such a young woman—pale and fine as cobwebs. [...] [Her] eyes seemed too large for her long, thin, somehow sad face, and were of a brown so dark that they looked black. The circles of weariness beneath her eyes stood out almost as vividly as violent bruises, and she carried herself with the brisk, sure manner of confidence Isana would only have expected in someone years older.”
(click to show/hide)

300: “She was a tiny old woman, white-haired and hunched but with more wits than most, and she had been an institution in the Valley for years before the First Battle of Calderon had ever taken place, much less the more recent events.”
(click to show/hide)

400: “[She] wore Aleran-style boots and trousers, as Kitai did, but sported a coat of leather armor modeled after the lorica of the Legions. Like Kitai, her hair was trimmed into a long mane allowed to flow down her back, but unlike her, the trooper's hair was dyed a vibrant shade of blue. The Marat woman, a veteran of the Horse Clan, gripped a cavalry spear casually in one hand and stood grinning down at the two of them.“
(click to show/hide)

500: “[This character], Seneschal of Phrygia and commander of its defending legions, was sixteen years old. He was an almost painfully thin young man, dressed in the white and green livery of the House of Phrygius, and his dark hair was untidy enough to merit an assault from some kind of elite barbering strike force. His dark eyes peered out from behind his hair as he bowed to Tavi.”
(click to show/hide)

QUOTE IDENTIFICATION

100: “This plan is insane.  YOU are insane.  I’ll need some pants.”
(click to show/hide)

200: “You are a marvelous stalking cow.”
(click to show/hide)

300: “Frankly, sire, I believe I’m entirely too terrified to offer you a useful opinion for the time being.”
(click to show/hide)

400: “Don't quote the Codex at me.  I was a Cursor before your mother and father had called their first furies.”
(click to show/hide)

500: “And vegetables. Don’t gorge yourself on meats and sweets and ignore your vegetables.”

Could you do one of those enormous novelty cakes and have the Eleventh Doctor pop out of it?  Because bow ties are cool.
